My mother developed breast cancer within a few months of taking HRT. I'm now experiencing sever night flushes/sweats which are affecting my sleep. Should I take HRT in light of my mother's experience

Most doctors are unwilling to prescribe HRT now if there is any breast cancer in the family but it is best to discuss this with them at some point.

In the meantime you may find sage tablets helpful, these are traditionally used for flushes and there are no indications listed that it has any hormonal action.
