The tests are not particularly accurate and do depend on your hormone level on the day so you could be going through the menopause, but be having a hormonal blip which could then give a false reading!
I would try the test again in a month or so.
Missing periods can be caused by other factors too such as stress, starting a new diet or a new exercise regime, illness, or taking medication.
You are in the average age range, 45-55, for starting the approach to the menopause so you could be on your way and missing periods are often one of the very first signs that your hormonal balance is changing.
However, if you are still worried about this do go and see your doctor.
