Unfortunately, no-one really knows what causes fibromyalgia, much less whether surgery is linked to the condition.
Traumatic mental or physical experiences, and extensive weight loss surgery would potentially give rise to either / are contributory factors, but I'd be loathe to say it was sufficient to cause fibromyalgia.
Instead, pain due to nerve damage is more likely but I wonder if you've asked for a medical opinion on this?
