This is quite a common symptom during the menopause.
Although we tend to think of oestrogen and progesterone as our main hormones, women have a small amount of testosterone as well. And, when your hormones are starting to change during menopause, that balance can go topsy-turvy and testosterone levels can end up higher, which can cause you to become angrier and more aggressive.
It is very important to talk to those around you so that they know what you are going through, rather than thinking this is really how you are going to treat them!
You may find a magnesium supplement helps to reduce the levels of anger and irritation. If you are not on any hormonal contraceptives, then you can try something like our Menopause Support tablets as well. This helps to just very gently raise and balance your hormones and also contains magnesium.
You may also want to check out a natural stress relief remedy such as Stress Relief Daytime, to take the edge off things.
Try to avoid caffeine (coffee, tea, fizzy drinks), as these can make you feel more out of control. Sugary foods may have the same effect, so try out some good dried fruit for snacks instead. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water, as dehydration can make your mood worse, and exercise regularly.
