Some women find that their periods gradually get lighter and further apart before disappearing altogether; some women's periods just stop suddenly and never come back; some women's periods stop suddenly and then come back for a while a year later; some women's periods get heavier and closer together at the start of the menopause and don't ease off until later. There is no way of predicting how it is going to work out for you personally until it starts happening.
