You are considered through the menopause when you have not had a period for two years, so at this point you will still be considered in the peri-menopause.
Although your hormone levels are falling there is still a monthly cycle just not high enough to trigger a bleed but still high enough to give PMS-like symptoms, this can go on for quite a while but should tail off at some point.
