I am 42 years old and have had some issues with peri-menopause, skipping periods and sometimes having more than two a month. I have now had a period for 23 days and am still going. I have scheduled to see a doctor. Is there any homeopathic remedy to help with the heavy flow and clotting?

Although prolonged periods are quite common in the peri-menopause they are not good for you and can cause fatigue, low mood and sleep problems so I am glad to hear that you are seeing your doctor about this.

The herb Agnus castus is often used for heavy/prolonged periods so may be worth trying for a couple of months if the doctor doesn't suggest anything.

However, if this does continue you must get them to look into it further for you, don't be fobbed off as in being told it's ok! (we do get a lot of women who have been bleeding for months and their doctor is unwilling to help!).

Acupuncture can often be really good for balancing the hormones at the start of the menopause so worth looking into as well.
