I woke up 3 days ago with fever, headache and tired, no sign of runny or blocked nose. Is this normal with flu?

Hello Joseph. Fever suggests the presence of an infection and the most common of these will be the viral infections we call flu. Your symptoms should be settling by now but if they persist, please seek help from your local doctor.

Hello Brendan. Your symptoms could well be the result of a viral infection especially if you have other signs or symptoms such as a sore throat, blocked or runny nose. Echinacea can help you recover and remember to keep your fluid intake up to avoid dehydration especially if you have a fever. Symptoms of flu should start to improve within 3 days and if does not happen, please seek further advice from your local doctor.

Dear Dr, I was diagnosed with laryngitis and severe flu with fever when I went to urgent care. They prescribed Tami flu and cough syrup with codeine. I've taken vitamins, tea, etc and rest. It's been over a week and my sore throat and cough are still not gone but I can talk better, but today I threw up and had the runs at the same time. And I'm sweaty. What's going on? Is this my body healing? Thanks

Hello Dizzy. I wonder if you might have picked up another infection. Fighting the original flu does weaken the immune system and you are more prone to picking up another infection, sometimes termed a 'complication'. This might be either a bacterial or viral infection. If your symptoms do not improve within 24 hours, you should seek further advice from your local doctor.
