Hi Halle, your parents could be right about the iPad/iPhones etc as they emit a light which can disrupt sleep (as it mimics daylight). I am attaching a link to some sleep hygiene tips which I hope might also help you determine what could be causing the problem and want might improve the problem:

Hello Sam, Sorry to hear that your sleep has been disturbed. First thing to try is the Dormeasan sleep remedy to aid a more natural sleep. Simply add 30 drops in a dash of water, 30 mins, before bedtime. If you wake up again, you could add a further 15 drops of tincture. In addition, the digestive process can often lead to a disturb sleep and tea, coffee or fizzy juice act as stimulants. So look out for specific triggers. Avoid eating too close to bed time or having a rich meal late at night, reduce caffeine or high sugar foods. A magnesium supplement might be an idea here, as it can aid sleep and relax muscles. Stress and anxiety can become an issue for some people. If you have noticed that your mind is busy or you tend to worry at night. You could add in Avena sativa in the daytime to ease any anxiety that might be impacting upon your symptoms, it is a gentle calming remedy. Let me know how you get on after a month or two.

I can not sleep 3 solid hours without diazepam and it was stopped 2 years ago after 23 years prescribed.
