Hi Lorraine, blood tests are static so they aren’t always completely reliable, so often it is more useful to listen to your symptoms. Interestingly, in line with our hormones, it is thought that levels of some essential minerals may drop off around the time of our period so it might be that just need a little extra support during this time. I would recommend trying a supplement called Magnesium OK which contains magnesium, chromium and a number of other nutrients. Cravings for milk or cheese may also indicate a deficiency in essential fats so a good quality omega-3 supplement may also be worth a try.
